Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you contact us or become a client.

1. Who we are

axistheweb is a managed software service operated by Reeco Liburd, trading as axistheweb, of 123 Hartington Street, Manchester, M14 4RU, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, “our”).

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions, reach us through our contact form.

2. The data we collect

Enquiry & contact details: when you send a brief or use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), business details, and anything you choose to include in your message.

Onboarding & agreement records: when you accept a Service Agreement, we record the name and email you provide, the version of the agreement, the date and time of acceptance, and the IP address the acceptance was made from — kept as proof of agreement.

Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details; we hold a Stripe customer reference and basic payment status only.

Technical data: limited information such as IP address and basic device/browser information, used for security and to operate the service.

3. How we use it, and our legal bases

To respond to your enquiry and discuss your project — on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.

To provide, build, host, and maintain your service, and to take payment — on the basis of performing our contract with you.

To keep records of agreement acceptance and payments — on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping accurate business records and meeting legal and accounting obligations.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

4. Sharing & processors

We share data only with the service providers that help us operate, who process it on our instructions: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Convex (application database), and Vercel (hosting). Each is bound to handle data securely.

We may also disclose data where required by law, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

5. Cookies

Our public site uses only the cookies necessary to function. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our admin area uses a secure sign-in cookie, which is not relevant to website visitors or clients.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. We keep agreement and payment records for as long as you are a client and for the period required to meet our legal and accounting obligations. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability, in each case subject to legal limits. To exercise any of these, contact us through our contact form.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.

8. International transfers

Some of our processors operate outside the UK. Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards (such as UK-approved transfer mechanisms) so it receives an equivalent level of protection.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date below shows when it last changed; significant changes will be made clear on this page.
